About
My name is Christian Pleasant, I started my design journey in the 1970s watching my mum work in textiles and fibre art and later as a ceramics potter. With plenty of creative stimuli it was not long before I took on my own creative journey.
Growing up on the mid north coast of New South Wales Australia, influenced by the sun, surf and artists of the surrealism movement, I went on to pursue fine art and in 1996 completing my bachelor of visual arts at Newcastle University.
I began my career as a screenprinter and embroidery digitiser and in 1998 joined surfwear street fashion label Hot Tuna as a graphic designer. In 2002 I left full time design to pursue a corporate career in sales and recruitment. Since then, I have lived the dual life of fine artist-designer and business professional.
As a firm believer in white space and clean design, as Dieter Rams would say, ‘Less, but better’, in 2015 I founded Venxy Enterprises, a family-owned company focused on our own products (we do not take on clients). As creative’s we, design, manufacture and market desirable products in fine arts, digital media, print making, fashionable streetwear and temporary tattoos at tattstr.com.
Aside from running Venxy Enterprises, I am the founder of Stimpl.com which provides designy digital web banners and photo retouching to promote individuals social media presence on Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
I live on the Gold Coast, Australia with my wonderful wife Rachel (Venxy Enterprises sales & marketing extraordinaire), our twins Raya and Izzy and youngest daughter Leilah.
